Blowing Rock Local Live Music Guide — Start Your Weekend Right

Blowing Rock has quietly built one of the most charming live music scenes in the North Carolina High Country — plan your next trip with our local music guide.

Blowing Rock has quietly built one of the most charming live music scenes in the North Carolina High Country — and if you haven't explored it yet, Friday evening is the perfect time to start.

From the iconic Music on the Lawn at The Inn at Ragged Gardens — a beloved Friday night tradition running May through mid-October where locals and visitors spread blankets on the grass and enjoy free performances starting at 5:30 PM — to live sets at The Speckled Trout, Twigs, and the Town Tavern, there's genuinely something happening almost every night of the week. For a full rundown of who's playing where, Live Music at Blowingrock.com keeps the most current lineup.

The scene here isn't loud or showy. It fits the town — acoustic, unhurried, and easy to stumble into on a walk down Main Street. That's what makes it special.

Introducing: Music At The Manor

What if you could arrive in Blowing Rock on a Friday, check in, and walk straight into live acoustic music and a complimentary handcrafted cocktail — without fighting for a spot on the lawn, finding parking, or navigating a crowd?

That's exactly what we've built at The Blowing Rock Manor.

Check-in, Relax, Your Weekend Starts Now

Starting at check-in on Friday evenings, Manor guests are invited to join us in the lobby for a complimentary cocktail hour. This isn't a rushed hotel happy hour with lukewarm wine and a bowl of pretzels. This is a proper welcome to your weekend — handcrafted cocktails made with seasonal ingredients, good conversation, and live acoustic music setting the tone for everything that comes next.

Think of it as the mountain version of a great Friday night out, except you're already home.

Live Music That Fits the Mountain

We've curated a rotating lineup of local musicians who understand the assignment: keep it acoustic, keep it warm, keep it unhurried. The kind of music that makes the room feel intimate without demanding your attention. Whether you're catching up with your travel partner over a first drink or unwinding solo after a long drive up the mountain, the music is the perfect backdrop — not the main event.

Live music runs from 3:30 to 6:30 PM every Friday evening.

The Cocktail Hour, On Us

Every Friday check-in includes one complimentary cocktail per guest, served in the Manor lobby from 4:30 to 5:30 PM most Friday evenings. Our bar leans into what the High Country does best — seasonal, intentional, and made with care. We'll let the drink speak for itself when you get here.

Why Blowing Rock on a Friday?

Friday evening is the single best time to arrive in Blowing Rock. The light that hits the Blue Ridge at golden hour is something you genuinely cannot recreate anywhere else, and arriving with the weekend fully ahead of you — no agenda, nowhere to be — is a feeling that's hard to put a price on.

From The Manor, you're steps from twelve acclaimed restaurants, boutique shops, and some of the most accessible trail access in the High Country. Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, the Blowing Rock attraction itself, and the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway are all within minutes. Friday evening is for arriving, settling in, and letting the mountains do what they do.

A New Friday Tradition, Shaped By The Season

We launched this experience in September 2026, and from the beginning it was designed to evolve with the mountains around it. Live music runs from 3:30 to 6:30 PM, with the complimentary cocktail hour from 4:30 to 5:30 PM on Friday evenings — timed almost perfectly with sunset over the Blue Ridge.

As autumn settles into the High Country, the changing leaves and cooler mountain air make the Friday evening lobby feel like something out of a storybook. Come winter, the same experience takes on a completely different energy — warm drinks, live music, and a fire while the mountains go quiet outside. Every season brings something new to this Friday ritual.

Join us, come stay awhile at The Manor.
